Who’s your star polisher? “Mr. Eric Zander.”
“He’s always pushing me to be the best me I can be,” writes Holidae, a student at Monticello Middle School. “And the way he teaches makes me understand things differently. He’s always there if I need to talk to someone, and he has taught me a lot about not just ELA but also about photography and how to be a good person. Thank you, Mr. Zander.”
Zander responds: “If anything it’s that mutual respect. I want everybody to succeed. It’s a great group of kids. I love being here with them.”
When Monticello’s staff and students connect, our stars shine!
As part of our district’s focus on student connectedness, we shared part of a poem called “The Star Polisher” with our middle school students and invited them to consider how Longview Public Schools staff have made a difference to them. Read about more of our stars and star polishers here.
