Who’s your star polisher? “Ms. Audrey Case.”
“She made me realize there is more to life than video games,” writes Lizzie, a student at Mt. Solo Middle School. “It’s fulfilling your dream, and my dream is being an artist and to get done with school and go around the world to show people my art and change other people’s lives.”
In a conversation, Lizzie explained that her report card used to be full of Fs, and now that’s changed.
“She told me I can do it,” Lizzie said. “She changed my life and motivated me to get my work done — instead of being depressed and dwelling on the past. I want to get an education and show my artwork off to the world.”
Audrey Case responded, “I was doing my best to change her mind toward school. She made the choice. You just have to care.”
When Mt. Solo staff and students connect, our stars shine!
As part of our district’s focus on student connectedness, we shared part of a poem called “The Star Polisher” with our middle school students and invited them to consider how Longview Public Schools staff have made a difference to them. Read about more of our stars and star polishers here.
